Vairodhi started as friends sharing the ocean. It grew into camps, youth sessions, conservation work and competition results that put Vaikaradhoo on the map.
K. Dhiffushi. A Vairodhi rider placed third in two separate annual editions.
B. Goidhoo. Representing Vaikaradhoo, the team earned “Best of 2nd Island”.
Moscow, Russia. A Vairodhi member represented the Maldives at an international flyboard event.

Our first camp introduced local youth to kitesurfing, the equipment and the confidence to get on the water.

A community day built around watersports, teamwork and shared experiences.

Practical instruction in windsurfing equipment and safe handling.

Youth action sports sessions for creativity, confidence and an active community.

Local riders learning, practising and progressing together in the ocean.

Regular environmental action with the Vaikaradhoo community.

Hands-on marine conservation around our island.

Two third-place finishes at the national kitesurfing competition.

“Best of 2nd Island” recognition in B. Goidhoo.

International representation in hydroflight. The experience behind the instructors who will run UDHUHILAA 2026.
“COVID brought us home. The ocean brought us together. Friendship created the vibe. Our experience gave us the skills. Our activities connected us with our community. And our community gave us a purpose.”
During the pandemic, tourism paused and many of us working in resort watersports came home to HDh. Vaikaradhoo. Without formal plans or an NGO structure, friends reunited to enjoy the ocean and make the best of an unusual time. What started as pure fun became a bond, teamwork took root, and we realised our experience could build something meaningful for our community.
Our first kitesurfing camp proved that shared passion could create lasting local impact. Even as members returned to resort work, Vairodhi kept growing, built on people and devotion rather than big budgets.
In July 2026, Vairodhi officially registered as an NGO under the Associations Act, establishing a structured foundation to empower future generations and preserve our ocean heritage.

Resort-grade kitesurfing, surfing, windsurfing, wakeboarding and funtube experiences brought home to our island.
Skateboarding and recreation sessions that foster active habits and skill development.
Regular beach cleanups and awareness programmes to preserve coastal habitats.
Coral planting programmes that express our deep ocean connection.
